and now we gather ~

Esteemed friends and denizens of the low country (or close enough that you subsbribed to this local list of mine),

Firstly: Hold the line. Just a few more weeks until the cold breaks and the warmth returns. In the meantime, we gather with wool and scarves.

Secondly: I have TWO fabulous events to remind you of this month- both of these events are free to attend!

The next Charleston Artists Salon:

Sunday, Feb 15th at Arc Take 2 Studios!

TIME: 5:15-7:30pm

This is NOT an open mic- it is a gathering of people who create things, or people who WANT to create things. You don't even have to identify as an artist- just come and share some ideas, space, give feedback when it's asked for, or ask for feedback on something you've been musing over.

Bring your ideas if you have em and your lovely selves, if you don't have an idea right now come anyway- those who do present something can really benefit from your feedback!

Arc Take 2 Studios is inside the Citadel Mall. Here is a little graphic on where to park- the mall will close at 6 so we will all be leaving out of the back door. It will be much more convenient for you to get to your cars if you're parked in this area:

I've seen first hand and very clearly how powerful it is to sit in a room with a couple of other likeminded souls, and speak about what you want to make out loud. It seems a small thing- and yet it can change everything. I hope you'll give that to yourself, whether it's here or in some other room. Please make your work. Thank you for making your work.

All of my gratitude to Sarah Dionna and Arc Take 2 Studios for hosting us! This is a true community space, and I'm delighted to utilize it in exactly the way it was conceived. Let's make some magic, slowly or quickly, it does not matter. It only matters that it moves.

The Well:

​The Well is a monthly gathering for teaching artists to learn, meet, and share resources. This is the brainchild of my good friend the wonderful Simone Liberty, founder of Creative Living!

Manflesh and I have been attending since the inaugural event over a year ago, and it's one of our favorite regular meetups! The subjects change every month, from how TF to price your work to brainstorming for the future, and I've always found value and comraderie in the room. The next event is:
