August Woo Corner and Other Stories

Friends of the internet,

If you follow me anywhere, you'll probably already know that I had the interesting experience of being bitten by a venomous snake on July 4th. That means July has been a month of new perspectives and novel experiences- not the least of which is a lessened capacity for doing stuff. That explains why Woo Corner is "late"- but actually it's not late at all, because...

I won't repeat the story here, but trust me it's out there and linked below for your leisurely perusal. Grab yourself a beverage and stay awhile, you're very welcome here.

Upcoming Cool Shit:

The Audacity Project, cycle 29 will be onboarding shortly! Cycle 30 (in spring of 2026) will be the last cycle of this beautiful, expansive course that I've run for the past 9 years. I'm fired up to give these last two cycles everything in my arsenal to get them unscared, unstuck, and on stage- or wherever else they want to be.

And now without further ado,

August's Woo Corner:

Let's see what the cards have to tell us- draw #1 is:

In contrast with my usual canticle of "take action!!", the Two of Swords begs of us to CHILL TF OUT. It's a good time to let things lie where they are, take a beat, and use the time for analysis. Tensions remain, and will remain for some time, but to address them, they need to be acknowledged clearly and regarded for exactly what they are.

This is a good time to differentiate between the stories we tell ourselves and the stone cold reality of facts. Take the time to relax the white knuckle grip on productivity, schedules, and planning, and just... regard your reality. There will be more opportunity to make better choices once the time has been taken to differentiate between reality and projection.

Card #2:

In conjunction with the 2 of Swords, this one is almost too obvious to count on. Spiders are known for weaving, yes, but then what do they spend most of their time doing?

Waiting.

I see this an an invitation to sit in the webs we have woven from our own creative force. Chill TF out and observe the life you've built. You'll notice tension of course, and hopefully you'll notice other things as well. Maybe this reflective period will finally give you the opportunity to celebrate what is working well, and not just criticize where you feel you've fallen short of the mark.

Also, falling short of the mark is fucking beautiful too and it is how we learn what we really want from ourselves.

TL;DR: Chill tf out. You can make changes, but first you need to know what's what.

I have to confess I am delighted at these pulls, as the recovery from using a wheelchair for a month has meant a great deal of sitting on the couch for me. Thanks, Spider!

with love from the couch, and the dirty south,

Don't go back to sleep.
