Dear wonderful weird people I share an immediate region with, This is just a courtesy reminder that the next Charleston Artists Salon is Sunday! Please share with any of your peeps that could use some creative community. When: Sunday, April 13th from 5-7pm Where: The Carmody Home, 43 Lolandra Avenue, Charleston SC, 29407 What: There is room for 4 more people to present, at about 15 minutes each. If you'd like to snag a place to present, just reply here to me. It can be incredibly informal. Even if you presented last time, don't do that southern thing where you don't snag a spot to "give someone else a chance" because they are also getting this email and have the opportunity to snag their own space. This space is for you, when you need and want it. If you want it, please take it. What are you making? What resources do you need? Who do you need to talk to? Let your community help you! Here's a cute lil graphic for sharing: We are in search of a new permanent movement space to hold the salon, so many thanks to Shannon and Charles for offering their (gorgeous) home for us to gather in this month! Please DO NOT park on Lolandra in front of the neighbor's houses. There is usually ample street parking on Lolandra on the far side of Apollo. I would love to see you there! If you have local friends you think should be on this list, please feel free to forward this email, they can sign up for the local list right here:
Bring your unwashed, half baked, horrid little brain monsters, I can't wait to meet them. Buttermelt in CharlestonThis is one of my favorite brain children, a workshop for movement artists (including but not limited to aerialists) to add layers and meaning to your work, give you some tools for creating your own choreography, and developing your ability to hold a stage not with tricks but with magnetism. I won't teach you how to move like me (cause one of me is plenty) but I will help you move like YOU. Hosted by my dear friend Pam Inveen, the badass behind Uptown Aerial Arts, this workshop will take place at Pale Horse Crossfit on April 14, 2025, 7:30-9:30pm. I'd love to see you there. You do not need to be an aerialist, just a mover. Please bring a notebook! Traveling Bellydance Class in Charleston:Tina Maric is teaching a slew of workshops at ARC Take 2 in the Citadel Mall on April 19th. I will definitely be there for the Mejanse class and I'm already so excited. All details and registration can be found here:
See you sooner rather than later, I hope. Don't go back to sleep. xoRachel |
