Our patrons scooped up a lot of spaces but there is still room- click here for details and next steps! and now without further ado... Woo Corner for September:So here's an interesting factoid. My Thoth deck is old, I've had it since college and I have no firm memory of how it came into my possession. My particular version of the deck has 3 versions of the 1st major trump card, the Magus/Magician. It's been out of print since the 80's, so they are pretty much impossible to find now but it's the only deck I've read with consistently since I was a teenager. Devotees might remember that the Woo Corner for January was a different Magus card. That's right- 2nd time this year that this bad boy has come up in Woo Corner. I looked into the archives and could find no record of it appearing in Woo Corner since before 2021. Have I laid down enough gravity yet to communicate how cool this is?! I will use some of the same verbiage here from January because honestly, I couldn't say it better myself (meta joke). I'll summarize the action item I feel this card communicates: Your calling must be made manifest. A power is ready to use as soon as it is recognized. You may recognize a potential or desire in yourself and file it away under Things To Some Day Possibly Think About. Or use nonsense phrases like “I just need to figure out __ first.” (Don’t ever fall for that phrase. It’s where ambition goes to die. It is meaningless.) You don’t need 50 walks in the woods or 200 morning pages to use your potential. You can use it now- and this is your courtesy reminder for the 2nd time this year that is gently demanding you acknowledge that which you have been avoiding. Your name has been called. Your number is up. Please come to the front of the class. It is go time. And any number of other commandments I could give you to underscore the fact that there is only one cure for what ails you, and it is action. The Magus is the embodiment of creative force in action. If there was a time for theory, it is over. The time for action is now. The magician is an impatient card, meaning that when you see it, you already know what it's tapping its foot about. It also stars Mercury/Hermes, the messenger- god of connection and communication. Send the email. Make the phone call. Initiate whatever connection you've been putting off. Schedule the meetup. Ask for what you want. This doesn't have to be hugely disruptive- it's a small thing, after all, to press send. Maybe it seems too small to make a difference, but it's not. Revolutions are made one small action at a time. In my opinion, there’s no punishment if you say no to this, other than the punishment you'll give yourself. There’s no guaranteed reward if you say yes. What there IS is the piercing joy of knowing yourself, and using all of you. We need all of you. Please, if there’s a bit of you that’s gathering dust on the shelf, take it down and use the good china. If you know exactly what this refers to and want to share, feel free to hit reply and tell me. I read every response. I am feeling sufficiently called out and I feel that nervous, delightful vibrato that happens when we get tired of our own bullshit and decide.
