Woo Corner for April, and other shiny things

Good morning, good brethren of the world!

And a very happy April to you. The horrors persist BUT the trees in the Low Country of South Carolina have exhaled in a great green flush, and if your eyes are open enough to see the horrors, they can damn well see the green, too. For those in the southern half of the planet, happy Autumn! And I have a question...are there pumpkins spice lattes? I really do want to know.

Behold, the green flush (and some fancy lads in pink):

These monthly newsletters are where I summarize all of the corners of the internet I whisper to, as well as to deliver Woo Corner (if you're just here for the functional woo, you'll find it at the bottom of this email). Until then, take a load off. Sit down, stay awhile. You are very welcome here.

On the Podlycast:

The blustery month of March brought the following offerings in on the podlycast, Audacity Works. New episodes air Wednesdays at 6am EST. Episode requests are welcome!

On the Patreon:

March's offerings included a passionate essay that was 100% me bitching about the structure of a festival that I've been waiting to hear from. And waiting. And waiting (TLDR: they finally said yes, then I rejected THEM). You can read the rest here: The Joy of Saying No. Patrons, make sure you're logged in on whatever device you are reading this on! Otherwise you'll just come up against a paywall.

As well, I had the pleasure of delivering the long anticipated fruits of the photoshoot I did in December with the wonderful Mark Rinaldi! HMU genius by Kala Kannisto. Here is one (one of my favorites) all 16 are up on the patreon for your leisurely viewing pleasure.

On the local swamp happenings:

In two weeks, I'll be delighted to bring one of my favorite things to teach into a local Charleston, SC studio for the first time: Practical Empathy, tools for empaths and HSP folks. Yes, this is the same workshop we were offering as a series, but we decided to condense it into a one-time only workshop. It's all the same material!

When: Wednesday, April 15th, 2026

What time: 6:30-8:30pm

Where: Evolve Academy of Conscious Learning

How much: $45 monies (it ends up being $48.80 with fees)

Why: To learn tools to help you use your gift without losing your shit. Bring comfy clothes, we sit on pillows and such on the floor!

I have been getting frequent questions on whether or not I'll hold this workshop again. I would be glad to, but there are no plans to as of yet. If you are hungry for these tools, it's best to get it while the gettin's good.

And without further ado, my next guest needs no introduction:

Woo Corner for April

And yes, I know I'm one week into April already. Life got lifey over here and as my patrons already know, "we do not rush". So I trust this comes to you at the exact precisely correct moment:

As you know, I'm a witch. It's not hard, I was born, and this is what I am. I do not always feel plugged in, but sometimes I do.

Today I was.

You might notice the Knight of Wands appears twice. The second one jumped out of the deck. And while shuffling the third deck for the third question, I thought: "it's probably going to be moth." I'm not telling you that because you'll think I'm so special- I'm not. I'm telling you that because when shit pops off like that and the synchronicity and intuition is at an all time high, it's usually because our guides are screaming through the void and really want us to hear them.

So, let's.

Q1: What is happening in the undercurrant? What might be hidden or obscured, but is true?

The Knight of Wands. AKA "The thing is happening, it's really happening!" So perhaps the meaning of this card in your own life is not as obscured as I originally thought- it might be plenty obvious. This card (just look at the lovely line art) is not shy. It knows what it wants to fulfill it's purpose and it has already left for the journey. Look down, you are already in the car. Who is driving?

Q2: What do we do with this information?

The Knight of Wands...again. Um...I'm pretty sure we...let the thing happen. This double card meaning fairly screams at me "do not pull the reigns! Do not tap the brake! Charge forth and be bold, ride the energy." The influence of the Knight of Wands is fearlessness. It's shadow side is recklessness, but I do not think now is the time to exercise caution. Now is the time to let this card be its whole unabashed self, and let that fiery, passionate influence drive you.

Q3: What medicine will serve us best this month?

Moth. Which I somehow knew, even though I am not familiar enough with this deck to even know what that means. Here's the direct quote from the accompanying literature: "Impulsive, hasty, wishful."

These cards are not being subtle, y'all. The tide waits for no one, get in the damn boat. The medicine of moth is easy enthusiasm, the great wash of inspiration and the pleasure of new obsession over a new project, lover, life change, etc. The last thing you should do when in the thralls of such a lovely human experience is to tamp it down and smother it out of "prudence." Just let it be what it is. Chase the shiny. It's ok.

We are all adults, we all already know that shiny things are not gotten in one full passionate burst of enthusiasm. Sooner or later, the hard work and the discipline will be needed. We know this. We can be prepared for this! We also know that it is all too rare to feel the magic of real alignment, real congruence- and the joy of taking bold action in that direction. Can we please enjoy that magic and the fluttering flight towards the light? Our muscle and our grit will be there when they are needed. Right now, our innocent joy is needed. Right now, our ability to remember and be present with the thrill of passionate action is what is needed.

Phew. Excuse me whilst I go run laps around my house.

I would like to extend an invitation- if you have a question you think would be just right for the cards, please hit reply and let me know. I'd love to know what YOU would like to ask next month for all of us!

Until next time, you beautiful moths, enjoy chasing the shiny.

And don't go back to sleep.
